Los Angeles, the City of Angels and film stars, has many glamorous associations and is, of course, a significant distance from the UK. Whilst this may make it hard to imagine there will be cheap holidays to Los Angeles, you can shop around for cheap Los Angeles flights with many of the main airlines having direct flights from London. You will be pleasantly surprised. Flying time is about 11 hours from London and there are free shuttle buses at the airport to rail and bus links. But make no mistake, LA is a driving city and it's easiest to get around if your first stop is a car hire from Los Angeles Airport. LA is very spread out and there is no centre of everything. Rather than think about hotels, it's better to think of what you want to see. Visitors tend to base themselves in Santa Monica, Hollywood, Disneyland, Long Beach and the lesser known Anaheim, which is in the famous Orange County. So holidays in Los Angeles are more accurately "around LA". Holidays to Los Angeles should include Beverly Hills, even if it's just on a bus tour as well as Hollywood, where it all happens; the Walk of Fame, Entertainment Museum and a visit to Universal Studios is a must. Santa Monica has some of the best beaches. Rodeo Drive is shopper's paradise. Venice Beach includes the famous Muscle Beach and glamorous people galore.How to get to Los Angeles
